Initial Consultation for Hypnotherapy
Upon booking, you will receive a confirmation email along with a health and well-being questionnaire to complete and return before your appointment. This allows me to tailor our session to your specific needs and dedicate more time to exploring your concerns during our first meeting.
The comprehensive 1.5-hour session is designed to provide an in-depth exploration of the challenges you seek to overcome. Together, we’ll discuss how these issues impact your daily life and envision the positive changes you aspire to achieve.
During our time together, we'll clarify your goals for hypnotherapy and establish clear, measurable indicators of success. By identifying potential obstacles, we’ll develop effective strategies to help you overcome them, ensuring steady and sustainable progress.
Drawing from psychology and neuroscience, I will offer valuable insights into your specific situation. This knowledge will empower you with a deeper understanding of your experiences and illuminate the path to lasting transformation.
You will also gain a thorough introduction to hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Through engaging imagination exercises, you’ll experience the power of suggestion and the vast potential of your imagination. I will guide you through a brief hypnosis experience, teaching you a simple yet effective method for entering and exiting hypnosis. This will allow you to harness the strength of your imagination, focus your attention, and leverage suggestions for your benefit. You will also learn a self-hypnosis process that you can refine and develop in future sessions, serving as the foundation for your continued progress.
This transformative initial consultation provides a solid foundation for your hypnotherapy journey. Ongoing Hypnotherapy Sessions
Each ongoing session is tailored to your unique needs, so the exact approach will depend on what you are seeking hypnotherapy for. We may explore relaxation techniques, thought processes, emotional regulation, developing a compassionate mindset, or strategies to help you face fears and build confidence. To complement the hypnotherapy, I integrate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), ensuring a well-rounded and supportive approach to change.
In each session, we’ll begin by reviewing your progress and setting goals for our time together. During hypnosis, you will sit comfortably as I guide you through an immersive process using imagery, metaphors, and tailored suggestions designed to help you build confidence, motivation, and emotional well-being. Each session is designed to empower you, giving you the tools to create lasting change.
The day after each session, you will receive an email with further reading and a summary of what we covered. This ensures you can revisit the tools and techniques anytime, reinforcing your progress beyond our sessions together.
Many people believe that hypnotherapy is something that is "done" to them, as if their problems will simply be hypnotised away. However, hypnotherapy is a collaborative process. Change happens because you are committed to it and willing to take the necessary steps. Practicing the techniques you learn will help you get the most from our sessions and support you in the future.
Hypnotherapy Sessions in Bristol and Online
Sessions typically take place every other week, with the number of sessions depending on individual needs. While I do not impose a set number of sessions, I recommend committing to at least four to build a strong foundation. Most clients see me for four to six sessions, but the amount of sessions needed varies depending on personal goals. You may be surprised at how quickly hypnotherapy can help you move forward, and my aim is to help you achieve results as efficiently as possible.
